Objectives
1. The primary objective of BATER is to maintain and use an international network to foster the general advancement of teaching, learning, research and practice in the field tourism, hospitality & leisure with particular emphasis in the Balkan region.
2. The secondary objective of BATER is to represent its members' interests on an international wide basis and provide leadership for continuous development through the fostering of teaching, learning, and research.

Members
BATER primarily aims at representing members with mailing addresses within the Balkan Peninsula. However, BATER members may also be based in any other European countries provided they have an interest in tourism and education related matters in the Balkans.
BATER members are:
a) educators and educational institutions involved in tourism, hospitality and leisure studies;
b) corporations and professional bodies who have a special interest in tourism, hospitality and leisure sectors;
c) postgraduate students enrolled in tourism, hospitality and leisure related fields of study.
